Peter Palivos: Philanthropy and public service

Throughout his career and personal life, Peter Palivos has been involved with philanthropic and professional organizations such as the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Chicago Council, the United Hellenic American Congress, the Hellenic Professional Society of Illinois, and the Pan Arcadian Federation of America. In 1989, he received the national Award of Merit from the Pan Arcadian Federation. The following year, he established the Pedia Scholastic Scholarships program, which has awarded college scholarships to 25 young men and women who excelled in academics and community service.

Peter Palivos: Early professional career

Peter Palivos began his legal career as an associate at the firm of Rittenberg, Krichiver, and Buffen, Ltd. in Chicago. In 1985, he became the youngest associate in the law firm's history to be offered full partnership. That same year, he formed the law firm of Peter A. Palivos & Associates, later known as the Northwest Suburban Law Offices. He has served on several business boards, including the board of directors of the Broadway Bank of Chicago and the Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Peter Palivos: Humble roots in Uptown Chicago

Peter Palivos was born on February 23, 1958. His parents, Angelo and Bessie Palivos, were Greek Immigrants. He was raised in Uptown Chicago, where he worked in his father's shoe repair store beginning at age 7. It was there that his father instilled the American work ethic in him and his three other siblings. On September 8, 1985, he married Vicky Tirovolis. After graduating high school, Palivos attended The University of Illinois at Chicago, where he studied Political Science and History. He received his Bachelor's Degree in History from Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois in 1980. It was at Trinity College that he was recognized for both his academic and athletic excellence in soccer, first being selected for the All-Illinois team by the National Soccer Coaches Association, and the All-Midwest teams of both the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes and the National Christian College Athletic Association. Throughout his life, Peter Palivos has distinguished himself living by the values of hard work, loyalty, service, and honor. He has been an all-state, all-Midwest, and all- American athlete, built a successful law firm and legal practice, and has been a successful businessman. He has been recognized for his contributions to both the cities of Chicago and Las Vegas, and as a cultural and commercial facilitator of the United States' diplomatic relationship with Greece. His dedication to serving others is reflected through a variety of charitable causes and philanthropic organizations, bipartisan political activity, and pro bono legal, political and community volunteerism.
